The Healthy Body Co. is an Out-of-Network provider for all insurance carriers. We will do our best to ensure an easy and effective insurance billing process. Before your first appointment, please take the time to read the FAQ below.

Can you bill insurance on my behalf?

We bill the following insurance on your behalf on an Out-of-Network basis:

  • Premera
  • Aetna
  • Regence
  • First Choice Health

If your insurance provider is not mentioned in our list, we can give you a superbill which you can submit for reimbursement. We strongly advise you to log in to your insurance carrier's portal and check your benefits. You can inquire about the following to get a better understanding of your coverage:

  • Benefit limits for massage therapy provided by a licensed massage therapist
    • This is important. Some insurances cover massage therapy, but only if provided by a MD, ND, or PT
  • Out-of-network benefits
    • Co-insurance charge
    • Prescription or referral requirements
    • Number of allowed visits

We do not have direct billing agreements with the following plans. However, we are happy to provide you with a Superbill to submit claims independently.

  • Secondary Insurance Plans
  • Lifewise
  • Cigna
  • Medicare/Medicaid/Medigap
  • United Healthcare
  • Kaiser HMO
  • CareFirst
  • Humana
  • TriCare
  • Third-Party PIP Claims
  • Dept of L&I Workers Comp Claims

Do I need a prescription from my doctor?

It is important to note that certain insurance providers require a prescription or referral for medical-based massage therapy. Therefore, it is necessary to have a valid prescription on file at the clinic you are receiving care from.

If you do not have a valid prescription at the time of your initial visit, you may be required to cover the entire cost of your visit if the insurance carrier does not pay. It is essential to ensure that you have a valid prescription to avoid any billing issues.

What needs to be in the prescription?

All prescriptions for medical-based massage need the following information at a minimum

  • Date Issued
  • Diagnosis and ICD-10 Code
  • Number of massages prescribed and duration (i.e. 1 - 2 times per week for 6 - 12 weeks)
  • Provider name and signature (either physical or electronic)

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • Your insurance card
  • A prescription or referral, if it hasn't been faxed to us previously
  • MVA claim information, if applicable

Do you accept MVA (motor vehicle accident) claims?

Kindly bring the following information along with your insurance details so we can proceed.

  • Name of insurance and claim number
  • Date of injury
  • Name of claims adjustor and contact info
  • Address for bill submittal
  • Name of other driver involved
  • Contact information of attorney (if applicable)

I have a HDHP (High Deductible Health Plan). Any suggestions?

If you have a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), you can choose to pay at the time of service (TOS) and then submit a Super Bill that we will provide you. This Super Bill can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. If you want to know more about this option, please contact us at billing@thehealthybodyco.com.

Do you accept HSA cards?

Great news! You can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) card to pay for your massage services.
